Jack Church talks with Charisse Hart, Chief Executive Officer for Ready for School, Ready for Life located in Greensboro, NC. This organization focuses on insuring all children and families in Guilford County receive the necessary resources to enter kindergarten developmentally on track. Hart said these programs are so important because research shows that 80 percent of the brain’s growth happens before age three. It’s an ongoing process beginning before birth and advancing into adulthood. She stressed that the first 2,000 days of a child’s life from birth to kindergarten are critical to emotional, physical, and cognitive well-being.
