Tanya Bohannon speaks with Captain Lawry Smith, of the Longview Salvation Army about the mission and purpose of the 150-year-old organization. Smith says the Salvation Army helps people because they believe it is the Christ like thing to do. Captain Smith describes the various programs they have available such as food pantry’s, shelters, housing programs as well as their thrift stores and the Angel Tree campaign. She also explains how the Salvation Army partners with community organizations to meet the community’s needs.
