Monika Kelly speaks with Elyssa Pechacek, Program Director of Griffin's Place about the ways this organization empowers people 14 and up with intellectual and developmental disabilities with the knowledge and opportunities need to engage in the community. Griffin's Place hosts regular events like "Open Gym and Hang" and "Paint Night" that provide a way for the guests to make friends as well as learn about available resources (disability support). Griffin's Place was started by the Berger Family, who wanted more for their autistic son, Griffin. Listen to find out how Griffin is doing now with the help of a supportive "village" that surrounds him.
