Jason Craig speaks with Rebecca Roberts, Executive Director of CYCLE in Houston. CYCLE aims to improve second-grade literacy at Title One schools in Greater Houston. Roberts explained that only 37% of Texas HISD third graders reached reading level in 2013. Their goal is to inspire students through their bike program, which has given over 185,000 bikes to local students who have achieved their goals. Originally from Scotland, Roberts shares the joy the children have when they receive a bike, the volunteer's impact, her proudest moments, lessons she has learned, and what the future holds (cyclehouston.org).
