New Song Feature: "Running Back To You" Seph Schlueter

Seph Schlueter finds refuge in his Heavenly Father on “Running Back to You,” the follow-up to his No. 1 debut single, “Counting My Blessings.” With a nod to the biblical parable of the Prodigal Son, which details the story of a wayward child whose dad welcomes him back with open arms, the driving, anthemic original encourages listeners with the truth that it’s never too late to come home.

“I feel like for a lot of people, the Gospel isn’t actually ‘Good News’ anymore. And it’s just like, no, this is the best news. As Christians, we should be so joyful and so expectant and so hopeful because of this Good News that we get to experience daily as believers in Jesus. And so the song is really kind of about that,” Schlueter shares. “It’s kind of a repentance song, but a joyful repentance. The Father’s calling, and we just get to run back to His wide-open arms. That’s the beauty of the Gospel. No matter how far we’ve run, all we have to do is just turn around and head back to Him, and He’s right there.”

The powerful, life-changing message of “Running Back to You” closes out a landmark year for the newcomer that saw him win Breakout Single at the K-LOVE Fan Awards, courtesy of his inaugural chart-topper, “Counting My Blessings.” Schlueter was nominated for two GMA Dove Awards, as well, including being recognized in the coveted category of New Artist of the Year.

The rising singer/songwriter, who also serves as the worship director for an Ohio-based conference and retreat-focused ministry called Damascus, is currently out on the road on the “United We Worship Tour” with Danny Gokey, Mac Powell and Tasha Layton. He’ll cap 2024 with the release of a new Christmas duet with Leanna Crawford.
