New Song Feature: "Be Okay" Lauren Daigle feat. Ellie Holcomb

Lauren Daigle recently recruited singer/songwriter Ellie Holcomb for an all-new recording of “Be Okay,” a standout offering that first appeared on Daigle’s latest self-titled studio album. Daigle and Holcomb penned the track together after Holcomb received a message from a terminally ill fan asking her questions about heaven. The two friends wrote the simple, yet poignant ballad for that little girl. However, the moving original has since proven to be a balm for countless hurting souls, as “Be Okay” extends an unwavering message of comfort and peace.

Complete with a memorable horn solo that recalls Daigle’s Louisiana upbringing, “Be Okay” ushers in a pure moment of respite and hope in the midst of the hard as the two women beautifully unite their voices in perfect harmony. The “Thank God I Do” chart-topper and the “I Will Carry You” singer debuted their fresh collaborative version at the 11th annual K-LOVE Fan Awards. Fans who caught select shows this summer also got to see them perform the track as Holcomb opened for a handful of dates on Daigle’s “Kaleidoscope Tour.”

“This song has always been so special,” the nine-time K-LOVE Fan Award winner shares. “Some of my favorite moments of creating are moments that are never seen or celebrated. It’s where the beauty lies — constructing, contorting, conspiring, creating, collaborating — learning where to lean in and where to have restraint. My time with Ellie Holcomb was nothing short of inspirational. [It] made me see the beauty of two by two in a whole new way.”

Fresh off a string of one-of-a-kind concerts in Europe, including an unforgettable performance in Tuscany, Italy, celebrating Andrea Bocelli’s 30th anniversary, Daigle is currently headlining her “Kaleidoscope Nights” tour, taking her colorful live show to amphitheaters across the U.S. She’ll close out the trek with concerts in Australia and New Zealand later this year.

Meanwhile, Holcomb recently released an expanded edition of her acclaimed devotional, “Fighting Words,” alongside “All My Days” — an album that sets her favorite Psalms to melody. In addition, the mother of three is working on a duets record with her husband, fellow troubadour Drew Holcomb.
