Josiah Queen discovers the provision and presence of God on new single “My Promised Land.” Like its predecessor, “The Prodigal,” “My Promised Land” ventures into folk-pop territory grounded in acoustic guitar, banjo, a steady drum beat and prominent hand claps.

Across a song that’s ultimately about surrender, the newcomer learns there’s nowhere he can run or hide from God’s presence, even in life’s most barren places. So, instead of fighting his human instinct to flee, he chooses to stay. Trusting a God he can’t see, Queen acknowledges the best adventures don’t always lead us toward what we want; they lead us toward Jesus Himself — He is the treasure; He is our “promised land.”
The heart-thumping, foot-stomping track appears on the Florida native’s full-length debut, “The Prodigal,” which also became the name of his first headlining tour, amassing numerous sell-outs nationwide earlier this year. Additionally, Queen spent time on the road this summer with friend and fellow Christian music riser Forrest Frank. The burgeoning singer/songwriter just wrapped another sold-out run of shows on the “Campus Nights Tour,” which took Queen and friends Chris Renzema and Antoine Bradford to eight college campuses this fall where they helmed nights of worship and community.

Reflecting back on a year filled with dreams coming true, Queen shares, “You only have a first tour once, and looking back at it, I have nothing but gratitude. Gratitude for every person that came out and screamed these songs. Gratitude for my band. Gratitude for my amazing, talented, beautiful, and Holy Spirit-filled wife. Gratitude that God would use me at all.”
In addition to his first tour, the “I Am Barabbas” singer received his first award nominations, earning a K-LOVE Fan Award nod, as well as recognition in two GMA Dove Award categories. Meanwhile, “The Prodigal” rocketed to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart.
