K-LOVE New Song Feature: "Parking Lot" Cochren & Co.

Parking Lot,” the new single from Cochren & Co., is Michael Cochren’s personal account of faith. As he can attest, the frontman didn’t encounter God where we normally expect to find Him. Instead, he discovered Him on an ordinary evening between two white lines.

“It’s a story about how God’s love reaches us no matter where we are. Maybe it’s a Sunday morning in a church pew, maybe it’s a Bible study with friends. For me, it was in my car in a parking lot on a Tuesday night,” Cochren shares of the real-life events that shaped the track. “When I was at the lowest point of my life, I prayed desperately for God to show up, and He chose to reach my heart through a song on Christian radio.”

Now, Cochren & Co.’s latest offering might just be an answer to someone else’s desperate prayer as it’s carried over the radio waves nationwide. The testimony-driven, pop-centric “Parking Lot” is the perfect follow-up to Prodigal-Son-inspired “Running Home,” the title-cut from Cochren & Co.’s sophomore album and the collective’s first career No. 1.

Since signing with TobyMac’s record label in 2018, the band has had the opportunity to open for Newsboys, Jeremy Camp, Crowder and TobyMac himself as Cochren & Co. has been a part of the lineup for multiple “Hits Deep” runs.

Next up, the group will take their live show on the road as special guests on We Are Messengers’ “Where The Joy Is Tour” — a 40-city trek slated to hit major cities across the U.S. this fall. The outing, which is also slated to feature newcomer Ben Fuller, will kick off Sept. 14, 2023, in Cochren & Co.’s home state of Indiana before concluding Nov. 19 in Maryland.
