CAIN speaks to the power of a relationship with God on their new single, “Friend in Jesus.” The sibling trio first recorded a live version of the anthemic track for 2023’s “Honest Offering.” “Friend in Jesus” immediately became a fan favorite, so the K-LOVE Fan Award winners reimagined the worship original in the studio and, last month, released it on the deluxe edition of their sophomore LP, “Jesus Music.”
With lyrics that swiftly invite you to raise your voice and lift your hands, the simple guitar/piano-led song features Taylor Cain Matz helming lead vocals with siblings Logan and Madison backing her on pristine harmonies. Additionally, a choir elevates the single’s overarching message: A deep friendship is available to us through a relationship with Jesus.
CAIN delivers “Friend in Jesus” with an obvious passion and devotion, building to a bridge that borrows lyrics from traditional church standard “In the Garden.”
“We pray this song reminds you that you have a Savior, a Shepherd, a Healer, and a FRIEND in Jesus Christ!” the group shares of the modern-day hymn.
Filmed in picturesque Cannon Beach, Oregon, on a chilly 45-degree day, the song’s official music video unveils the trio barefoot in the sand, singing the powerful ballad as waves crash on the cliffs behind them. They performed “Friend in Jesus” at the 11th annual K-LOVE Fan Awards before announcing it as their next radio single.
CAIN is poised to release their first children’s book, “I’m So Blessed,” Aug. 13, 2024. Titled after their viral hit, the vibrantly illustrated picture book is a gift to their own kids, as well as little CAIN fans everywhere. All three CAIN members are now parents, with Taylor and her husband, Steven, recently announcing they’ll be adding a baby boy to the growing clan come November.
In partnership with K-LOVE, the family band will be a part of select “Unite the City” events this fall. These first-of-its-kind weekends will feature a kick-off concert in each town headlined by CAIN, followed by a day of community service where fans will have the opportunity to serve their local communities alongside K-LOVE DJs.
