New Song Feature: "Let It Begin" Big Daddy Weave

Big Daddy Weave welcomes a current of healing on new single “Let It Begin.” The song feels especially apropos in light of band member Jay Weaver’s passing. While the group is understandably still grappling with the massive loss of their brother, bandmate and friend two years following his death, they’re also welcoming the hope waiting on the other side of grief.

Beautifully holding the tension of pain and purpose, Big Daddy Weave delivers this new anthem with the power and intensity of a band that’s felt the sting of death but also the fresh renewal of redemption that can only be found in Jesus. And they’re willing to endure the transformation required to get there.

“I’ve seen God do miracles that result in instant, miraculous healing, but more often — especially with wounds on the inside of us — I’m learning that healing is a process that God wants us to walk through with Him,” says Big Daddy Weave frontman Mike Weaver of the message behind their latest release. “Our new song, ‘Let It Begin,’ celebrates and welcomes the process of God’s healing in our lives.”

Following the collective’s most recent No. 1, “Heaven Changes Everything,” “Let It Begin” continues to preview the K-LOVE Fan Award-winning outfit’s next studio effort. They also just dropped an alternate version of the track with Matt Maher, who’s credited as a co-writer on the original selection. Together, Weaver and Maher sat down for a lengthy discussion of the story behind the song during a thoughtful conversation they captured on video.

In August, Big Daddy Weave was part of the lineup for the sold-out “K-LOVE Live at Red Rocks” event in Morrison, Colorado. The band will launch the fall leg of their “Let It Begin Tour” Sept. 18, 2024. Special guests Hannah Kerr and The Young Escape are set to provide direct support.
