Artists often debut new music at the K-LOVE Fan Awards because they know the most avid Christian music fans are sitting in the audience. This year, Casting Crowns and Zach Williams both stepped out and premiered songs on the 2021 K-LOVE Fan Awards stage, allowing those in attendance to hear new music live before anyone else. Check out the performances of their brand new sure-to-be hits below.
1. Casting Crowns “Scars in Heaven”
“Group/Duo of the Year” contender Casting Crowns debuted brand new song “Scars in Heaven,” the lead single from their forthcoming ninth studio album, due to release in November. The two-time K-LOVE Fan Award winners shared an emotional performance of the stirring track birthed from frontman Mark Hall’s experience watching his mother care for her aging parents, who passed away within a year of each other. Hall co-wrote the moving selection with Matthew West.
2. Zach Williams “Stand My Ground”
Not only did Zach Williams take home fan-voted trophies for “Male Artist of the Year” and “Song of the Year” for “There Was Jesus,” his acclaimed duet with Dolly Parton, but the award-winner also used his performance slot to treat fans to a brand new song. The gritty “Stand My Ground” is slated to be a part of Williams’ deluxe version of Rescue Story, available July 9. For his inaugural performance of the track, Williams and his band turned in three minutes of pure southern rock with backing vocals from Williams’ tour mates, CAIN.
Ticket packages for the 2022 K-LOVE Fan Awards Weekend are now on sale. Next year’s event will take place May 27-29, 2022 in Nashville.
