Every great person that is remembered has a history. When we think of Michael Jordan, we think of basketball. Serena Williams? Tennis. But what is Jesus known for? Some say he was a great teacher, a good leader, and even a healer, while others doubt he even existed. Regardless of what many have said about Jesus, we do know this truth – He is famous. But, famous for what?

Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life of obedience to God, died on the cross, and rose again. He did what none of us can do, and he did this for us! Now, when we place our faith in Jesus and believe in the work that was done on the cross, we are born again. Only Jesus can save us. That is what Jesus is famous for.
Jesus provides forgiveness!
Only Jesus can provide that. Forgiveness is the greatest need of every person. That’s what Jesus is famous for. He forgives us, saves us from the wrath of God, delivers us from the power of Satan and sin!
Jesus is enough!
We don’t have to look for satisfaction, happiness, and fulfillment in other places. This is because satisfaction is found in Christ alone. Our careers, looks, desire for power, religious deeds, and comfort will never fulfill us. No matter how successful we are in these areas, they will always underdeliver, leaving us empty. Only Jesus can fill that void we experience. But what else is Jesus known for?

In the song, Tauren Wells states, ”I have a hope, found in your name, I have a strength found in your grace.” In these lyrics, we are reminded of the hope that we have in the name of Jesus.
Hope is confidence in God’s promises.
He is our healer, hope, strength, deliverer, and provider. Consider meditating on these specific promises that come out of Isaiah. Isaiah 43:2 NLT states, ”When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.” This is a promise we can rest in.
Cling to the promises of God.
However, this does not mean things will always work in our favor. God did not promise us a life of ease. He did promise us that as we go walk through the fire, trials, and hard seasons, God would never leave us. As the song states,” “Walk me through the fire.”
Jesus is famous for walking us through the fire. Our job is to keep our eyes on him and keep walking with Him, even when we do not see the victory or breakthrough in our lives.
