10 Prayers to Combat Loneliness
Loneliness is a common problem, but the last couple of years have magnified those feelings for everyone. Thankfully, we serve a God who knows our need for community. In fact, he made us this way! When God created the first human being, Adam, he saw that “it is not good for man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18). We were all made to live and thrive in a community with other Believers. We need them, and they need us! With this being said, we recognize that finding and connecting with a good, godly group of people may be difficult for some. You may have been hurt by the Church or other professing Christians. You may not have a way to get to Church. Maybe you just don’t know how to find a good church or get more connected. Wherever you’re at today, remember that we serve a loving Father who promises help and wisdom when we ask for it. We have provided some Scripture-based prayers to help you seek God and his role for you within the Body of Christ.
![Lord, in a season full of distractions, fears, and hardships, so many things could get in the way of meeting with other Believers. God, You know my heart and my situation. Out of Your great love and insight, show me how to connect with other brothers and sisters in Christ, giving me the courage I need to do so.](https://cdn.corpemf.com/blogs/36331.png)
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
-Hebrew 10:25
![Father, I long to be in a community full of mutual encouragement! You have given me specific gifts to build up the body of Christ. Please show me where and who I can be serving with those gifts. Also, putting people in my life to pour into me.](https://cdn.corpemf.com/blogs/36333.png)
When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.
- Romans 1:12
![Lord Jesus, help my life be built upon You as my solid foundation, and that all I do would flow from being rooted in You. May Your Holy Spirit help me grow strong in Your truth and bless me with a thankful heart. Lord, I ask that You bring people into my life to both help me become more Christ-like and that I can encourage towards growth also.](https://cdn.corpemf.com/blogs/36335.png)
Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
- Colossians 2:7
![Lord, since we live in a fallen world full of gossip and slander, I ask that You protect me from engaging in such things. Also, I ask for healing over my heart where I have been wronged. Lord, help me forgive as You have forgiven me, and that I may be at peace with others. Furthermore, allow me to have eyes to see how I can encourage others toward Christ.](https://cdn.corpemf.com/blogs/36337.png)
So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.
- 1 Thessalonians 5:11
![As I seek to honor You, Father, guide me by Your Spirit. I know that You will never leave or abandon me no matter where I go, but I ask You to put me on the best path You have for me. Specifically, I ask that You would place me in the correct local church body, giving me clarity on where You want me to be investing and serving.](https://cdn.corpemf.com/blogs/36339.png)
