“I love You, LORD; You are my strength.” - Psalm 18:1 (NLT)

Have you ever been rescued from real danger? Maybe you had an experience where you were saved from a harmful accident by an emergency responder, or perhaps you knew you were about to be put in a tough situation, but someone came through and spared you. If you can recall a situation like this, do you remember the feeling that came with being rescued? Maybe you let out a sigh of relief or even embraced the person who saved you from that situation.

In Psalm 18, David is praising God for rescuing him from King Saul and the enemy nations who sought his destruction. David starts the psalm by sharing his love and gratitude saying, “I love You, Lord; You are my strength." When you acknowledge that someone has saved you from a dangerous or threatening moment, the right thing to do is thank that person, and this is precisely what David is doing. Not only that, but the love and thankfulness that David feels toward God empowers him to  proclaim that the Lord is his strength and his savior.

So today, make it a point to take an intentional moment to reflect on God’s saving power in your life. He has done what no one else could do and saved you from eternal death! It's a new day to praise, thank and give your love to Jesus for being your ultimate rescue.

"He has done what no one else could do and saved you from eternal death!"

Tip of the Day

Take at least two minutes to actively thank God for His saving power in your life.

Prayer

Dear Lord, like King David, I express love and gratitude to You for being my strength and rescuer. Thank You for Your countless rescues in my life. Today, I reflect on Your goodness and the ultimate rescue through Jesus. Empower me to walk in Your strength in a new way in this season of my life. In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.

Pause and Reflect

Reflecting on moments of rescue in your life, how does expressing love and gratitude to God impact you personally?

In what specific ways can you acknowledge God's saving power in your daily life?

Write down 10 things about God that you love about Him, and then thank Him for each thing.
