8 Prayers to Prepare Your Heart for Easter

Easter is a time where we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and are reminded of the victory we share with Him in His Resurrection. Here are 8 prayers relating to them:

Heavenly Father, I sometimes forget about Easter until it is right on top of me. Then I feel guilty because I am not gripped by the realities of this season. Help it to be different this year. Help me to prepare and remember so that I can make the most of this Easter season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” - 1 Corinthians 10:13

Father, I am tempted to think this Easter will be no different. Help me to prepare myself now. Allow me to watch out for temptations so that I can be the person you want me to be. Thank you for Jesus, who makes it all possible. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Father, I know life is not about me and my needs, but I confess I get in the way sometimes. As I come into this Spring and this season of Easter and Jesus’ sacrifice, help me make much of Jesus. Help me to remember that Jesus’ loss is my ultimate gain. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lord, I need to be reminded today. Sometimes I don’t fully grasp the reality of what you gave up saving me., Remind me of the greatness of you, Lord, and the excellence of your love for me. Help me to know and feel it. In Your name, amen.

Lord, I keep trying to do things myself, and I am failing. Help me to remember that apart from you, I can do nothing. Even as Easter approaches, I am keenly aware of how stale I can feel. Energize me by your spirit and make this Easter more impactful for me than it ever has been. Amen.

Father, I know I am so stale right now. The things of you do not seem to move me. Revive me, Lord. Make me excited about the things of Jesus this Easter. Keep me from going through the motions and help me experience the truth of what Easter is and means. Thank you, amen.

Lord, sometimes I am in so much pain that it is hard for me to see you. Help me to remember that because you died that you know all of my pain. You understand what I’m going through and how hard life can be. Help me to worship you in the middle of my pain. Amen.
