Photo Essay: Families Say Goodbye - Loved Ones Deploy As Part Of NATO Operation

As the Pentagon sends additional warships and 2,500 Marines to the Middle East to blunt Iran’s continued aggressiveness in attempting to seize commercial ships, other troops are headed to Europe as part of America’s support of NATO. 

At Fort Stewart, Georgia, the 3rd Division Sustainment Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division says goodbye to families and friends prior to departing on a 9-month deployment as part of a NATO operation to assure allies and deter adversaries in Europe. The soldiers will build readiness through training, both as a unit and alongside allied forces.
