Seattle's Police Chief Adrian Diaz says his department faces a "staffing crisis" after 246 officers have resigned since last year. Some officers retired early, while others took law enforcement jobs elsewhere, and exit interviews confirm many of those leaving had issues with department and city leadership and what felt like an anti-police climate. There have been police budget cuts and more are being considered in response to protests and claims of police abuse there and nationwide.
