(NEW YORK) – A community of like-minded women are coming together to seek God and find commonalities in the lives of other women in the Bible.

Soul Sip Sisters is bringing together women of all ages and nationalities in New York City.

Hear K-LOVE's Tala Shatara and Amira dive into girls, the gospel, and how you can join:

Amira Shleiwet, one of the members, took over the group after their original founder, Dao Enfantino, moved to Bahrain with her family to bring the Gospel to a predominantly Muslim country.

“It was definitely in my heart to continue this group,” Shleiwet said.

The group was founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was exactly what many women were searching for during that confusing time, especially Amira.

After spending much time reading and learning about the Bible with her cousins, she stumbled upon Soul Sip Sisters. The group allowed her to take her faith journey to another level.

Before eventually leading the group, Amira joined as a regular member, routinely participating in many in-person and virtual meetings.

Soul Sip Sisters regularly meet at New York City-area coffee shops, where they can figuratively “spill the tea” on all topics in Scripture. From addiction to self-esteem to relationships and more, no topic is off the table each week.

“It is such a safe space for all women of all ages, of all backgrounds to just share whatever it is that is on their heart based off of the questions we ask or whatever the story is speaking to them at that time,” Amira says.

The women say they have become as close as sisters, and look forward to welcoming more women into their circle.

Soul Sip started with just five women. Today, under Amira’s guidance and leadership, the group has welcomed more than 100 women all over the country, virtually and in-person.

Amira uses the power of social media to integrate fun and faith:

With all this success, Amira keeps her focus on the One who made this all possible.

“I want to give God all the glory.”
