St. Louis, MO (by Billie Wright) - Pitcher Kyle Gibson plays with the St. Louis Cardinals. He travels all over the country several months out of the year. Instead of sitting idle during his down time from the game, he rallies fellow players to give back to the communities they visit.

Kyle works through the nonprofit Big League Impact. “These organizations cannot survive without volunteers who are willing to come in and help.”
Along with fellow pitcher and founder of BLI Adam Wainwright, Kyle has helped the organization raise money for causes they care about. The total so far is well over $9 million.
Kyle’s schedule can often be very busy. Yet, he understands the need to focus on charitable causes…a lesson he learned in childhood. “My dad, who was my coach, my whole life was always talking to my sister and I about giving back and making sure that we’re helping other people.”
As a baseball player, Kyle could focus on nothing but the game…but as a Christian, his attention goes toward others. “I really just want that organization to have the impact that they’re really trying to have.”
