Mentoring kids can change a life.
Introduce them to Jesus…it changes everything.
That’s the heart of Pam Moss. She leads “Tommy’s Toolbox Ministries,” a non-profit, in Albuquerque. “We do a Bible study and we provide dinner. We go out into the shop and we have some mentors set up to teach the kids welding, pinstriping, we’ve worked on cars for car shows.”
The group meets courtesy of a Car Crafter’s location. Learning car skills is the fun, but learning about Jesus and biblical life-lessons are woven into the sessions.
“Some of the kids that we have there don’t have a real stable home life and need someone just to talk to sometimes ... we have a father-son team that comes and they are working on their own relationship,” bonding as they work on cars.
In our complete interview podcast below, Pam explains the very touching reason for the name “Tommy’s Toolbox Ministries.” And she shares a clever comparison to the ways we use our cars to the ways God can help us if we follow Jesus. Give a listen.
