(LAS VEGAS, NEVADA) -- Ava's Avengers helps families who have a child battling a medical condition with medical, travel and lodging expenses. Named after 15-year-old Ava Wright, the organization got started as a result of Ava's medical condition.

Rather hear the conversation with Ava and her dad, Andrew?

When asked about the origin of Ava's Avengers, defers to her dad.

"I was four and going into brain surgery so I'm not really aware of how it started so I'm gonna pass that over to dad," Ava explains.

"Ava was very into Marvel heroes and Marvel movies and we formed leading into her brain surgery. She has Chiari Malformation, which is there's no cure, the surgery just helps with symptoms. We went to a Chiari Walk here in Las Vegas and we just a huge amount of people coming out and supporting the Chiari community and that's where Ava's Avengers was born," dad Andrew explains.

"When we were in the hospital, we were answering texts and emails from people around the country who had seen and heard about Ava and Chiari and their kids had Chiari but there wasn't of information at the time. So while we were helping families, Ava's prime concern in the children's hospital was getting strong enough to be cleared to go visit the other kids and cheer them up. Ava has always been a naturally helpful girl, so we decided that we'd create this to help families going through this because it's such an overwhelming and isolating time."

Ava's dad Andrew introduced her to the world of endurance sports to help prepare her for her lifelong battle with Chiari. As Ava has triumphed over the years, she has become a source of inspiration and hope for families whose own child has a medical condition as well.

The organization has grown over the years--now, over 100 Avengers, Agents and Cadets in over 12 states have joined in to make a positive impact in their own communities, helping people through their most difficult times.

Ava is the face of Ava's Avengers and is very instrumental in creating social media content, making homemade cookies as well as competing in endurance and obstacle races to raise money for the organization.

"I enjoy being able to see how we are able to help families and different kids, which is a large part of the organization," Ava says.
