Proving to be the best golf program in the state of Colorado, both men’s and women’s golf teams showed off their talent and hard work at the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Championships, held April 20–22 in Boulder City, Nevada, at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

The Colorado Christian University’s (CCU) men’s golf team, ranked No. 1 nationally, delivered a historic performance, clinching their second consecutive RMAC title with a commanding 24-stroke victory, setting a new program and conference record with a 54-hole team score of 814 (-50), surpassing their previous record of –37.

The CCU’s women's golf team also delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 RMAC Championships, securing a tie for second place with a team score of 887 (291-296-300), marking one of the program's strongest showings in recent years.

“With the stellar performance by both teams at the RMAC Championship, there is no doubt that CCU’s golf program has the talent, heart and drive to compete at the highest level,” said Jon Poag, CCU Athletic Director. “We are so proud of what they have done and hope to continue to build on this success of this program.”

Graduate student Sangha Park led the charge, capturing the individual title with a tournament total of 199 (-17), establishing a new program record. Park’s second-round score of 62 also set a new course record at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

Sophomore Sungyeop Cho secured second place with a total score of 202 (-14), while senior Adam Duncan finished fifth at 205 (-11). Junior Peyton Jones and senior Xavier Bighaus rounded out the top performers, finishing sixth and eleventh respectively.

“This victory is a testament to the dedication and talent of our student-athletes,” said Head Coach Mark Hull. “Their commitment to excellence, both on and off the course, continues to elevate our program to new heights.”

The Cougars’ triumph at the RMAC Championships adds to another impressive season, which includes victories at the Las Vegas Desert Classic and the WWU Invitational.  In addition, CCU athletes are 4 of the top 5 individual Division II golfers in the nation.

CCU now sets its sights on the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional Championships, scheduled for May 8–10 at Victoria Club in Riverside, California.  This marks the beginning of their road to what could be a second NCAA Division II National Championship title—a feat they last achieved in 2024.

Junior Makenna Brown led the Cougars, earning medalist honors with a fifth-place individual finish. Teammates Kylee Hughes and Raya Schulz also delivered strong performances, each finishing tied for sixth place.

“We came into this tournament knowing it was going to be an uphill battle to come out on top. After the first two days we proved that we play well as a team, finishing 1st after round 1 and 2,” shared Head Coach Ashlyn Kennedy. “We played confidently and consistently; we just fell short on the last day. The girls showed great effort and competed competitively. We look forward to hopefully continuing our season at the regional tournament and we will take the experience we gained from tournament and grow from it.”

This strong finish from the women’s team highlights a banner week for CCU Golf. The men’s team also made headlines, claiming their second straight RMAC Championship with a dominant, record-setting performance—further solidifying CCU’s reputation as one of the top golf programs in NCAA Division II.

With the RMAC Championships behind them, the women now await word on a potential at-large bid to the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships, scheduled for May 8–10. A selection would mark the program’s third appearance at the regional level and a fitting reward for a season of excellence.
