"I really started to have faith and the confidence that it is possible.”

Shot putter Yemisi Ogunleye, who represented the German team at the Paris Olympics, clinched a gold medal in the women’s match. But above and beyond that feat, the Nigerian-born athlete unexpectedly sang a Christian song during a news conference after the win. Her confident smile as she sang was riveting, “I’m alive today because of His grace.” (watch). And now Yemisi has shared the medal at her home church (watch further below).

Now, Yemisi has returned to her home church, Christ Gospel City, in Germany where she thanked the Lord again, and joyfully shared the medal with church leaders (watch):

"Some time ago, I was just praying and asking God what he wants to do with the Olympic Games. And He was like, 'We are going to get gold,'" said Ogunyele. "I did not have faith at that moment. But He kept on telling me. It sounds literally crazy, but I have seen it in front of my eyes, and I really started to have faith and the confidence that it is possible.” – Olympics.com
