With the COVID-19 pandemic impacting lifestyles and taking lives in America and worldwide, using the term ‘going viral’ to refer to a trend on the internet seems inappropriate. So, we’ll say this trend is spiritually contagious and incredibly encouraging! Christians in many nations and regions are creating music videos based on the anthem “The Blessing,” which was written by Steven Furtick, Chris Brown, Kari Jobe, and Cody Carnes. "The Blessing" is featured on Elevation Worship's newest album Graves Into Gardens.

Here’s how “The Blessing” was premiered by Elevation Church on March 6 of this year.

Not long afterward, Elevation Worship was key in exposing believers worldwide to the song of inspiration, hope, and confidence in God – by featuring virtual singers from many nations on this May 11th historic broadcast video:

Since then, in rapid succession, the concept of myriad Christian voices taking part in social distancing, singing individually, and combined into a single unified video, has exploded.

The most recent is called “The Bay Area Blessing” that includes worship leaders and many others from more than 50 churches in the San Francisco Bay Area:

Other ‘The Blessings’ have originated in such diverse places as…

Malaysia:

Canada:

Hawaii:

South Africa:

Even one translated into the Farsi language dedicated to the people of Iran:

We can only believe “The Blessing” is just one example of the incredible things God is doing behind-the-scenes as the world struggles with a viral pandemic and related economic woes. Play these videos, see the confident faces singing of God’s power and promises… and know that God’s Son, Jesus, is for you!
