From Andrew Palau:

"Thank you all for your continued prayers for Dad and Mom.  It’s been an interesting start to the year.  We thought it would be good to give you an update on Dad’s health so you can pray more specifically.

At the beginning of January Dad went in to the hospital for his routine chemotherapy infusion.  While there, the doctors didn’t like what they saw in a few of their normal tests.  He was admitted to the hospital to run more tests and attend to those concerns.

The issues mainly had to do with low blood pressure and an irregular heartbeat, and the doctors were confident they could get things under control.  It took 12 days in the hospital in the end, so it was not insignificant, but all is well considering all that and Dad is back home with Mom and feeling better, although still very low on energy.

Dad continues to meet with his medical team for analysis and further treatment, but everyone is at peace and working hard in the midst of all the complexities.

Of course, this complicates the ongoing treatment for his lung cancer a bit, but Dad is in good spirits and he is pushing through.  Regarding prayer, you know it is a miraculous reality to keep your spirits up in the face of it all.  Only God.  So please pray that Dad would continue to have that inner strength day by day.  Mom as well.

As you might suspect, Dad is famous at the hospital – truly loved by all and pointing each and every one to the Savior every chance he gets.  The number of stories and reports from the medical staff – sharing how much of an encouragement and blessing he was to them while there – was such a blessing, yet also not a surprise.  He is a true champion for the Gospel and a great example for us all.

As always, Dad and Mom, along with the whole family, so love and appreciate your support and prayers.  We serve a good God who is leading us faithfully and we have a great team of doctors helping us every step of the way.  You won’t be surprised to hear Dad repeating the passage that has meant so much to us all: 'As for God, His way is perfect: The Lord's word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him' (2 Samuel 22:31)."
