With Christmas just around the corner, the Dream Center is preparing their annual tradition to help provide toys and gifts to families throughout Los Angeles. On Saturday and Sunday, December 18 and 19 from 5-10 p.m. PST, they will be hosting a Christmas “Dreamland.” With many families in LA struggling financially, and with inflation driving the price of children’s toys up as much as 10% ahead of the holidays, the Dream Center wants to make sure everyone in their neighborhood has the opportunity to be filled with a spirit of joy and cheer this Christmas.
This free, two-evening event will include gifts and activities for the whole family including:
- Over 10,000 toys for children of all ages
- 20,000 meals
- 500 hams
- And a festive carnival, complete with train rides, a carousel, reindeer, games, snow and hot chocolate
“Every day of the year, we try to find ways to lift burdens off of our neighbors and friends throughout Los Angeles, and the best way to do that right now is to help ensure families here are showered with gifts this Christmas, despite financial hardship,” said Los Angeles Dream Center Co-Founder, Matthew Barnett. “Everyone should have a chance to experience the joy of the Christmas season, and we want to celebrate this special holiday surrounded by the community we love. I encourage everyone throughout the Echo Park neighborhood and beyond to stop by, bring a friend, and join us for the best block party of the year.”
This year’s annual Christmas Dreamland event is sponsored by Shawn Meaike and his team at Family First Life.Shawn and his team have donated funds and their time to make this evening possible.
