More than 2,000 children received a new, wrapped toy for Christmas

This was the twenty-sixth year for Boxes of Love. What began more than two decades ago with the Buffalo Dream Center helping two hundred children with toys for Christmas has multiplied into one of the largest Christmas charities in Buffalo, New York. 

This year, the Buffalo Dream Center held 33 mobile food pantry distribution sites throughout the city of Buffalo.  Nearly 3,000 families received groceries and more than 2,000 children received a new, wrapped toy for Christmas.  The Buffalo Dream Center also gave more than 21,000 pounds of food to other ministries and churches to enable them to reach more families with the love of Jesus.

Rev. Eric Johns, pastor of the Buffalo Dream Center, who lived with the homeless during the week of Thanksgiving for twenty-five years and passed the baton to his sons this year has completed his Boxes of Love project. 

The final event of the holiday season for Pastor Johns and the Buffalo Dream Center will be a free lasagna dinner for those in need. It will be held on Tuesday, December 24 at 3:00 p.m. The dinner, which will be preceded by music, prizes, and a special message from Pastor Eric, will take place at the Buffalo Dream Center, located at 286 Lafayette Avenue, Buffalo, New York 14213. People will sit down to eat closer to 4:00 p.m.
