Peter Kaye speaks with Sloan Hedrick of A House on Beekman, a local nonprofit with a mission of empowering the next generation of the South Bronx to live out their full potential. Hedrick discusses the challenges that have led the area she serves being rated as the highest risk community in New York City’s five boroughs. She shares how A House on Beekman works with children from birth to graduation along with their parents to help them live out their dreams. Hedrick reflects on one of the original babies that they served and updates us on how she is doing today.
