Jeanice Lee talks to Elaine Gonzales, Executive Director of Guiding Light Foster Family Agency. Gonzales shares why this non-profit was created after working as a social worker and seeing the lack of support/programs that were being offered to children in the foster system including those with disabilities. She describes the foster process and support provided to the families and the children. Gonzales says foster parents provides basic needs such as stability, safety, love, care, and access to education until the child is reunited, adopted, or retained through guardianship.
