Ron Turner talks with Kristin Sokul, Senior Director of Advancement Communications and Marketing at Gleaners Community Food Bank about the health risks associated with Food Insecurity. She explains that the five county’s they serve in Southeast Michigan are at a 14.2% Food Insecurity rate which is slightly higher than the rest of the State. She emphasizes education for the communities they serve to help people understand how good nutrition leads to better health and how to be better shoppers of food items to help avoid waste..
