Jeanice Lee talks to Dr. Shajaira Lopez, Co-Founder with Children Ready to Learn. Lopez says they are an educational organization that provides parents and caregivers in WA with workshops, take home materials, toys, and books to help their children from birth to 5 years old prepare for kindergarten. Lopez states they service primarily serve African, Vietnamese, Somali, and multi-racial children and families who are underserved in the community. Their curriculum is designed around 26 age level targets which is correlated to school achievement. Lopez invites anyone to attend their free workshops.
