Ron Turner talks with Jen Keller, Development Manager for PADS of Elgin in the NW suburbs. She explains the biggest contributors in the area to homelessness are the high costs of rent and lack of available affordable housing. Though they are not an emergency shelter, they do assist those fleeing from domestic violence. Keller says their goal is to help clients get into their own housing as soon as possible based on their needs. (www.padsofelgin.org)
