Jack Church talks with Steve Brooder, CEO for St. Matthew's House in Fort Myers, Florida. St. Matthews House has been serving Southwest Florida for over 35 years helping individuals and families facing food insecurity, homelessness, addiction, and underemployment. Brooder says housing has become unaffordable for many working families in the area and they have turned to St. Matthews for help. He says food insecurity is also on the rise; their food pantry is set up for those in need to shop for essentials instead of simply handing them boxes of food. Brooder said this also makes the experience more dignified giving clients a choice of what they want and need.
