What do K-LOVE and one Pittsburgh man have in common?
Much like K-LOVE’s mission, Garrett aims to bring people closer to God through praise and worship music too.
Nogan is known for his online presence as a successful Christian influencer, author, musician, and worship leader. His most notable work is the creation of a YouTube ministry page where he teaches people of all skill levels how to play worship songs on the guitar.
Nogan has amassed a following of more than 500,000 people who are all gaining valuable skills while also celebrating a genre of music that was there for Garret from the start.
Like many stories of faith, his started with K-LOVE.
Nogan said his life felt much better when K-LOVE was on his radio, and it wasn’t long until he decided to bring “positive and encouraging” music to the world in more ways than one.
“My first few years out of college, I was just listening to K-LOVE nonstop,” Nogan said. “I was so broken, and I was in a place of ‘I don't know what to do, I don't know how to fix this,’ I've tried a million other things to try to fix my life and I'm just going to give it to God.’”
Songs sung by Chris Tomlin, Brandon Lake, and more were moving Nogan in a time where he needed it the most, and ever since the first song, he became rooted in faith more than he ever had before.
“I've just been a massive fan ever since!” he said. “I got the merch, I got the t-shirt, I'm a monthly donor, all those things,” Garrett says.
He soon relied on his faith more than ever and knew it was time to give back and allow others to feel the same.
Without a musical background and just a camera and a guitar, Nogan set up his first YouTube page, where he teaches people how to play contemporary Christian music.
“I was like, ‘man, I love this, I’m into worship music, and I can play four chords. I'm going to start putting some of these videos on YouTube,” Garrett says.
After several years of trial and error, his YouTube Ministry took off.

His page welcomes those of all skill levels looking to incorporate worship in their everyday lives, from those looking to serve in their church’s worship band, to family members looking to bring worship in their home, to even those serving in a prison ministry, these are some of the “students” Garrett takes on.
“These are just unbelievable stories that I hear that really encourage me so much to keep doing what I'm doing,” Nogan added.
YouTube is not the only platform Garrett is using to glorify God. He has used TikTok and Instagram to bring more positivity, devotionals, testimonies, and more.
He posts daily bible study lessons for young men looking to grow in their faith and religion with the help of the popular book, “The Disciplines of a Godly Young Man.” And when he is not teaching, he is giving back in other ways.
Garrett gives away guitars to several of his students after every 10,000 subscribers.
As he gears up for another year of great content, he is setting out to bring the gospel to his viewers in more ways than one. This year, he is embarking on a Bible In A Year reading plan and is hoping to build worshippers in both spirit and truth.
His hope for the future is to continue using his love and talent for music to bring people closer to God and inspire others to do the same with their passions.
