Pastor Anthony shares, "July the 27th into the 28th, we had some torrential rainfall that came through our area. About 12:30 in the night, a lot of homes started washing away, families getting separated, and we get up the next morning and we've had a disastrous flood. We've got all kinds of folks that are homeless today. Their homes are totally gone or partially gone and many don't have anything at all after this devastating flood."
Pastor Anthony says he's been blown away by the generosity of the community.
“The day after the flood, we went out and tried to help rescue folks because there was a lot of areas that you couldn’t get to…we just started feeding families…we started serving 3000 meals a day…we’ve had clothing for the families, we’ve had food boxes we’ve been making, trying to provide air mattresses and tents," Pastor Anthony shared.
Pastor Anthony says while Kentucky is used to flooding, this has been catastrophic.
What gets him through?
“We just take comfort in the scriptures, knowing that the Lord will never leave us, never forsake us…even our days of adversity, He’s going to be there with us…He’s our rescue, He’s our strength, the Bible says He’s our strong tower.” Pastor Anthony is definitely a man of faith.
