Jude Nyame Yie Kofie - Nyame means ‘God’ and Yie means ‘good’ – so it means “Jude, God is good, Kofie”

Isaiah Kofie heard some unexpected music coming from the basement where his son, Jude, had been looking at musical instruments. “I was listening to the news in the living room – and I heard him play something on the keyboard, for the very first time, in the basement.” To his father’s amazement, Jude, then age 10, was playing a Ghanian worship song like an experienced keyboardist. Except he wasn’t.

Jude, full name, Jude Nyame Yie Kofie, was born in Virginia. His dad is from Ghana. They live in Aurora, Colorado now. Jude’s name has a very special meaning. Isaiah shares that Nyame means ‘God’ and Yie means ‘good’ – so it means “Jude, God is good, Kofie.” And both father and son will attest to the goodness of God.

Earlier in his life, Jude had numerous health issues and is on the autism spectrum. He has played the drums, like his dad – who loves music - but the keyboard session was entirely out-of-the-blue. “So, this is actually a miracle from God Himself,” believes Isaiah. In our complete podcast interview, you will hear Jude shout out, “It’s a miracle!”

Now, about a year after the unexpected basement worship concert, Jude plays keyboards at the church they attend, The Church of Pentecost USA in the Denver area.

In our complete interview podcast, just below, Jude shares his excitement about playing the keyboard and serving God, and we’ll bring you a sample of his music, which comes from his YouTube channel “JudekeyzOFFICIAL.”
