(Loomis, California) -- Sacramento-area wife and mom Jamie Levoy never imagined the plans that God had for her.
From humble beginnings, Jamie is now the assistant coach, executive director and owner of women's professional soccer team, the California Storm.
Players over the years have included legendary soccer players Brandi Chastain, Alex Morgan and Julie Foudy.

"I've been part of the organization since around 2005. I actually started volunteering in the snack bar and worked my way all the way up. Jerry Zanelli, when he passed away in 2019, he left me the team in his will. It's been a big passion of mine to create a platform where we provide the resources in our community and to our athletes that I didn't have. I think it's really important that I played the game and could understand the women's game and how it's lacking in...visibility and proper uniforms and strength and conditioning coaches and all that kind of stuff that comes with it," Jamie explained.
The California Storm gives back
"We've put on free soccer clinics for kids from underserved communities and those and we try to make them as accessible as possible so that kids can have a place where they can come and feel a part of something as a team and that they can learn those skills. Leadership skills and goal-setting, exercise, healthy eating.
Our other outreach is that we do free soccer clinics for kids with disabilities. There's really nothing like it year-round because Special Olympics does a phenomenal job of providing the different sports throughout the year. They might do soccer for two months or three months and then it goes to another sport. Kids, they get a free soccer ball, they get a water bottle, a swag bag, healthy snacks...we're really letting kids know that this is a place where we celebrate you and a place where you can make friends and where you're really gonna be uplifted."
One player's faith in Jesus drew Jamie to have a deeper walk with the Lord
"I've always loved God and loved Jesus but it's funny how my journey shifted when I had one year left of eligibility (to play soccer) and I moved over to (William) Jessup (University in Rocklin, CA) and I really wanted to get involved in the coaching side of things. I became a coach there and one of my players was telling me about, and I had always really admired her faith, and she told me about KLOVE. I started listening to it and KLOVE changed my life.
I had always had a relationship with God, but then it changed to 'He's my friend.' It had always been black and white before."
The California Storm Soccer Team's National Championships
As assistant coach, Jamie has helped lead the Storm in several national championships, including recently in 2024.
Jamie has remained incredibly humble throughout all of her success.
"I was embarrassed to tell people that I started in the snack bar. I had to work and have faith in what I was doing. I would be selling snickers and reading Brandi Chastain's book. I'd be the best snack bar attendant they'd ever seen. I slowly kept showing that I wanted to invest into the program and I never would have guessed that I'd be the executive director of this organization. If you trust God's plan, it will work out."
