At a recent K-LOVE staff devotional, Pastor David shared a message about Christmas and then shared a very personal thing from his family. It's a poem he wrote as he envisioned in his heart the interaction between God, the Father, and Jesus, his Son, as Jesus readied to embark on a divine mission that he knew would require extreme dedication, obedience, humiliation, and unimaginable pain.
Even though he would be totally human - and totally God - Jesus would refuse to use his power, the same power that created the universe, to prevent what was to happen. Because he knew if he didn't, mankind would not have an option to live forever with Christ.

Jesus stood at Heaven’s gates as the angel foretold His birth.
The time was fleeting quickly before He’d come to earth.
He turned and saw His Father. They met and they embraced.
My Son, I’m awfully proud of you. Now go save the human race.
