Greetings in the name of Jesus from Mission Eurasia. As you are well aware, the war in Ukraine continues to rage and has actually escalated in recent days, causing great concern for the people of Ukraine, our ministry, and the entire world. In spite of this, our leaders, staff, and teams in Ukraine continue to heroically provide leadership while sharing the gospel and helping countless families and communities through many practical and strategic ministries.
I am writing to let you know that the war has now hit very close to home and has directly affected a member of our own team. Denis Gorenkov, our field ministries executive director, who is in Ukraine, was just drafted into the Ukrainian military and must report for duty at the beginning of next week.
We are greatly concerned about Denis and his family, who are living apart from Denis in London as refugees and who just received this devastating news.

As brothers and sisters in Christ and members of the Mission Eurasia family, please join us in praying for:
- God’s strength and protection of Denis during this time of uncertainty and personal risk.
- God’s strength, protection, and provision for Denis’ family, including his wife, Lena, daughter, Olya, and son, Ilya.
- Strength and safety as I leave for Ukraine tomorrow to be with Denis in order to support and encourage him and our key field ministry leaders in Ukraine.
- Leadership wisdom to sort out all of the issues related to Denis’ leadership responsibilities.
Thank you for your prayers for my colleague, Denis Gorenkov, his family, and our entire staff as we go through this difficult time. Please also pray for an end to this terrible war and for God’s comfort and strength for the people of Ukraine who are enduring much pain and suffering as the war grinds on.
