“I may not know where we’re going, but I know it’s gonna be good.” Those are the affirming lyrics TAYA sings on her vibrant new single, “Gonna Be Good.” Birthed in a season of transition and uncertainty as the new mom contemplated first-time parenthood, the logistics of touring as a young family and the scary prospect of headlining shows on her own, the upbeat pop gem shines with the kind of optimism that can only be gleaned from a deep-rooted faith in something bigger than yourself.
TAYA penned the fresh original with songwriters Joshua Silverberg and Jessie Early. Inspired by the Scripture found in Matthew 6 — which insists that if our Creator cares about the lilies of the field and the birds of the air, He cares supremely about our hearts — “Gonna Be Good” also resulted in a colorful music video that’s as fun, lighthearted and memorable as the high notes TAYA effortlessly delivers in the song’s chorus.
“This song is a joy-filled reminder of God’s faithfulness and His care toward us in every season. May it help us all steep our lives in God reality, God provision and God initiative,” TAYA offers. “I’m so grateful to know the One who holds the future.”
“Gonna Be Good” is the lead single from TAYA’s forthcoming sophomore solo effort. The “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” singer just wrapped a European tour that took her to Hungary, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany for the first time as a solo act. She recently announced a second run of international dates, set for June, that will see her visit four additional cities in the U.K.
Last year proved to be one of TAYA’s most significant 12-month periods to date. Her 15-track self-titled solo debut dropped in January to critical acclaim. Then, to cap an exciting 2023, the songstress and her husband welcomed their first child — a son — in December.
