New Song Feature: "People Like Us" Micah Tyler feat. Emerson Day

Micah Tyler first unveiled “People Like Us” in early 2023 when the song released as the title-cut of a six-track EP. Now, the singer/songwriter is revisiting the project’s namesake and enlisting his newly inked labelmate, Emerson Day, for a reimagined recording of the passionate single.

Tyler’s latest offering is a testament to the extraordinary love our Heavenly Father lavishes on ordinary people like you and me. Encouraging listeners that no one is ever too messed up or too far gone to receive the life-changing love of God, “People Like Us” follows a pair of consecutive No. 1s from Tyler — “I See Grace” and “Praise The Lord” — both of which also appear on the collection.

“This song has been so important to my life since we wrote it,” Tyler shares of the selection he penned with Jeff Pardo and Zach Kale. “Praying it’s a reminder that God loves you right where you are!”

While “People Like Us” marks Tyler’s 10th radio single, the song serves as Day’s official introduction. Armed with a degree in Homeland Security, the Maryland native was poised for a career in law enforcement until she began leading worship and realized God was calling her down an entirely different path than the one she originally envisioned. “Honored to be a part of this message. Thank you to my friend, Micah Tyler, for allowing me to help share God’s love through this song,” she says. “It’s already touched so many, and I can’t wait for y’all to hear this new version.”

In March, Day released a trio of songs that give listeners a brief glimpse into what’s to come from the soulful singer. Meanwhile, Tyler is set to hit the fair and festival circuit in the months ahead, capping the summer with a performance at “K-LOVE Live at Red Rocks” on Aug. 6, 2024.
