JWLKRS Worship lifts up the name above every name on “In the Name of Jesus,” a new original song that emphasizes the power found in declaring the name of our Creator over our circumstances and our very lives.
The group’s Noah Schnacky — a former actor and country music hopeful — helms lead vocals alongside Chandler Moore (Maverick City Music), while a choir backs the men on gang vocals, creating an instant atmosphere of worship. Together, the two singers declare that God is bigger than any problem we could ever face.
“This song was just an idea among friends,” offers Noah, who wrote “In the Name of Jesus” with Moore, Austin Armstrong, Ella Schnacky, Ilya Toshinskiy, Ran Jackson and Sajan Nauriyal. “See… We believe the name of Jesus has power. The power to heal. The power to encourage. The power to break addiction. The power to inspire. Our idea was to put that power into a song.”
The faith-affirming anthem opens JWLKRS Worship’s debut EP, “Here I Am,” which also includes “I Thank God,” their chart-topping, K-LOVE Fan Awards nominated collaboration with Housefires, Ryan Ellis and Blake Wiggins.
Moreover, “In the Name of Jesus” just earned the collective their very first GRAMMY® nomination in the category of Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. The nod is a result of the wide impact they’re making on this generation as they leverage social media, podcasting and online Bible studies to reach their peers for Christ in innovative ways.
JWLKRS is more than a worship group, however. Their desire is to ignite a movement through discipleship. Their name is a moniker for Christ followers walking in the way of Jesus, and their original music is simply one of several vehicles they use to share the Gospel message in a way that’s approachable, relevant and palatable — particularly for young adults growing up in an age of endless TikTok reels.
The group of siblings and friends is currently sharing the stage with Maverick City Music and Moore on the “Good News Tour,” which wraps Nov. 26, 2024, in Newark, N.J.
