New Song Feature: "Up + Up" Colton Dixon

Colton Dixon sets his sights on better days ahead on his new single, “Up + Up.” For inspiration, the pop maestro leans on a contagious hook and the truth found in familiar Scripture passage Jeremiah 29:11: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’”

“Life is tough, but I believe God wants the best for us. Though life doesn’t come without trials, I believe that God’s plan is to give us hope and a future — a plan that always says ‘up and up’ again,” Dixon offers. “Musically, I wanted to mirror the message of this song, which is this: Don’t let life knock you down, but put your hope in God, and He will take you ‘up and up’ again.”

The bright, uplifting offering is hallmarked by a distinct piano melody and Dixon’s charismatic vocal. Shortly after releasing “Up + Up” — one of only two originals the chart-topping artist has dropped in 2024, thus far — Dixon joined Brock Gill for a fresh installment of “Moto Mission” that saw the two men team up for an excursion that took them to Narrow Gate, a ministry that equips young men globally with skills for a sustainable business model through handcrafted wood and leather goods. As he continues to spend time in the studio crafting his next project, the “American Idol” alum is giving fans a glimpse into what’s to come on his social platforms. In the meantime, Dixon’s currently sharing his latest radio hit on his headlining “Up + Up Tour.” With dates running through the end of the month, the outing also features pop riser Austin French and newcomer Jeremy Rosado as direct support.
