"God is not against me" Elevation Worship

Elevation Worship returns with a declaration that emphasizes God is for us on “God Is Not Against Me.” Flipping the title on its head, the reigning K-LOVE Fan Award-winning Group of the Year leans into the truth of Deuteronomy 20:4: “For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and He will give you victory!”

If you need the reminder, Elevation Worship’s newest song heard on K-LOVE will affirm you are not alone. The Father sees you, and He is forever on your side. These are the certainties the group maintains on their latest offering. Asserting that God is always moving, always working and always going before us, “God Is Not Against Me” expands on the foundational promise that the Lord will never leave or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6).

The group’s Jonsal Barrientes leads the first verse, while key Elevation member Tiffany Hudson helms the song’s second stanza. Written by Brandon Lake, Chris Davenport, Steven Furtick and Pat Barrett, “God Is Not Against Me” appears on the collective’s latest LP, “When Wind Meets Fire.” Incidentally, Lake also recorded a soulful R&B, electric guitar-laced version of the track for his critically acclaimed “Coat of Many Colors” album. In contrast, Elevation Worship’s recording is naturally more congregational-friendly.

The passionate mid-tempo ballad comes on the heels of the unprecedented success of “Praise,” Elevation Worship’s biggest single to date. The massive hit maintained the No. 1 spot atop the Billboard charts for an astounding 30 weeks, and the group recently performed the chart-topper on “TODAY” during the national morning show’s fourth hour hosted by co-anchors Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager.

Elevation Worship just announced fresh arena dates for 2025 as the outfit continues its record-breaking “Elevation Nights” tour next year. They’ll headline eight shows in February and March, visiting key markets, including Tulsa, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C.
