Brandon Lake claimed his second trophy of the night when “Gratitude” was announced as Worship Song of the Year at the 2023 K-LOVE Fan Awards. The newly minted Male Artist of the Year took the mic once again to extend his thanks, specifically expressing gratefulness to all of the worship leaders around the world who have led the song in their churches. He also encouraged those listening to call out talents and gifts as they observe them in the upcoming generation because, as he asserts, they will be our next worship leaders and songwriters crafting songs for the global Church.
A local church worship leader at heart, Lake is still relatively new to radio and continues to stand in awe of the ways in which God is using the lyrics and melodies he writes to shape listeners’ stories. “It blows my mind to see the magnitude of how God has chosen to breathe on these songs and how they’ve impacted people’s lives,” Lake told K-LOVE DJ Carlos during a red carpet interview earlier in the evening.

Although Lake has enjoyed multiple chart-toppers as a collaborator on tracks with celebrated collectives like Maverick City Music and Elevation Worship, “Gratitude” is the Charleston, S.C., native’s first No. 1 by himself. The song created a standout moment each night on his recent sold-out “Miracle Nights Tour” — the first headlining trek of his solo career.
With brand new music on the way, the in-demand songwriter is poised to co-headline 16 arenas alongside Phil Wickham on the “Summer Worship Nights Tour.” The ambitious outing, which also features special guest KB, will visit major markets like Tampa, Chicago, Nashville, Fort Worth and San Diego, among other cities, throughout August and into September.
