Fruit of the Spirit: Peace

The fruit of peace is a gift from God. To enjoy true peace in any area of our lives, we must first have made peace with God through faith in his Son Jesus Christ. Once we have received Christ, God’s supernatural and lasting peace is fully available to us. Here are some prayers to help us experience God’s peace every day in our hearts and circumstances.

A Prayer For Galatians 5:22

Lord Jesus, you are the trustworthy source of peace in my life. Only through you is peace even possible. Thank you for providing a relationship with God so I can experience the sweet fruit of peace through your Holy Spirit’s power, no matter my circumstances. Show me how to walk in your power today, focused on you and not the things around me that cause me stress.

Lord, thank you for providing what I need today to experience lasting peace. When my soul is troubled, your Spirit’s presence calms my heart and soothes my mind. Your peace is a gift that no one can take from me. During those times when fear surrounds me, help me to remember your love and promises.

A Prayer For Romans 5:1

Father, I praise you because you are such a personal God. Thank you for caring so much about me that you sent your Son, Jesus, to die and pay for my sins. Now I know I can live in freedom from guilt and shame. I’m so thankful for our relationship and the confidence I have, knowing that you hear and answer my prayers. Give me the courage to share your peace with someone who doesn’t have it.

I know you will renew my mind as I read your word and focus on you. Please strengthen me to obey you and breathe fresh hope into my life today.

A Prayer For Romans 14:17

Dear Father, thank you for calling me into your family and including me in your heavenly kingdom. I know that the way I interact with other Christians really matters to you. But sometimes, I build my own personal kingdom by pushing what I think is best. At times, I forget your kingdom priority of loving other Christians and pursuing peace within my church and family. Today, please give me eyes to see what really matters and also the heart to pursue your desires over mine.

Lord, I praise you as the Prince of peace. You alone have the power to bring divided hearts together through faith in your work on the cross. Help me to see myself as a builder of peace. Where there is hostility in my relationships with others, show me ways I can demonstrate your love. I want you to use me in my family and community as an instrument that breaks down barriers and unites hearts through your powerful gospel of peace.

A Prayer For Ephesians 4:3

Lord, I praise you as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit. In your complex nature, you are perfect in unity and one in purpose. I admit I don’t always align my desires with your goal to make me more like Jesus. I am not always diligent in preserving unity with other Christians in my life, especially those who have hurt me. Help me to forgive others. Grow my desire to strengthen the bond of peace with those I struggle to love.

Lord, today I need your peace to drive away my anxiety, especially about the future. I have no control, but you possess all power. You have complete authority over everything that may come my way, and I know you want only the best for me. Guard my heart and mind against fear and give me rest. I trust you. As I think about your goodness and faithfulness, I know I am secure in your love.
