The Fruit of The Spirit is the character qualities that God seeks to develop in every believer's life. They are the attributes of Christ that the Lord wants to grow in your life through the power of the Holy Spirit. Over the next couple of weeks, we're going to look at each fruit, see what God's Word says about each one, and partner with the Holy Spirit to let him work in us to make us more like Jesus.
Fruit of the Spirit: Love
Love is where everything starts. The Bible tells us that God is love (1 John 4:7-8).
Fruit of the Spirit: Joy
Joy is more than happiness. Joy is assurance that God has better things ahead of you no matter what circumstances are happening to you.
Fruit of the Spirit: Peace
The fruit of peace is a gift from God. To enjoy true peace in any area of our lives, we must first have made peace with God through faith in his Son Jesus Christ.
Fruit of the Spirit: Patience
Patience can be one of the most challenging fruits of the spirit to cultivate. It’s hard to wait on God and others.
Fruit of the Spirit: Goodness
Goodness means having integrity. It means doing what God says is right even when it would be easier not to.
Fruit of the Spirit: Gentleness
The quality of gentleness is the opposite of harshness with others.
Fruit of the Spirit: Faithfulness
God is always faithful. He never lies, and you can always count on him.
Fruit of the Spirit: Self-Control
Self-control allows us to say no to ourselves when everything in us wants to say yes.
Fruit of the Spirit: Kindness
The fruit of kindness is the Christ-like characteristic of behaving toward others as God has behaved toward them.
