Mike Weaver has had plenty of instances over the course of his life where he’s witnessed firsthand the impact God can make at any moment – like when he was about to ask for his future wife’s hand in marriage.
During a recent visit to the K-LOVE Studios in Franklin, Tennessee, the lead singer of Big Daddy Weave sat down with K-LOVE DJ Carlos for an inspiring, wide-ranging conversation on several topics, including that all-important meeting.

“I have this window where I get to go sit with my potential mother-in-law, so I'm thinking in my mind, like, ‘What am I going to say to this woman and convince her that [her daughter and I can have a future with my music career?],’” Weaver recalled. “So, we get in the car, and we had out, at this time, a song called ‘Audience of One.’ My future mother-in-law pulls up, and I go to get in the car. I'm so nervous, I sit down in the car, and I hear, ‘To my audience of one…’ So, our song comes on the radio. You couldn't plan that. I was like, ‘God, listen, thank you, Jesus.’”
Weaver has also seen the Lord’s guidance through the recent loss of his brother, Jay. The band’s latest hit, “Heaven Changes Everything,” continues to comfort Weaver while realizing God has something more in store.
“It's about perspective,” Weaver said. “It hurts when you lose somebody. We go through stuff that doesn't make sense in life. It's hard, but the idea that this is not all that there is, this is not the end; the enemy wants to sell the lie. It’s like, whatever the low part of your story is [must be] the end of your story, right? That's not true for us as believers. The greatest hope that we have is always ahead of us, and that changes how we see stuff today. So, it changes how I go through today. I don't grieve like somebody who doesn't have hope. That's what the Bible says, and so that's what ‘Heaven Changes Everything,’ to me, is about – perspective.”
