We know the K-LOVE Fan Awards Weekend is the place to hear new music first, fan-girl over your favorite artists and get a rare glimpse into the stories behind the songs. But this year, the annual event introduced a new activation that allowed fans to make a difference in the lives of others.
Among the concerts, showcases, live interviews and artist interactions, for the very first time, the K-LOVE Fan Awards hosted an Impact Zone in 2024. With three remarkable organizations — People Loving Nashville, My360Project and Mighty Oaks — all represented on-site, fans had the opportunity to tangibly give back by writing a letter, packing a bag or making a donation. These simple acts of kindness paid off in spades. Here’s a look at what you — the fans — did in just three days by the numbers:
For those interested in learning more about the organizations represented at this year’s K-LOVE Fan Awards Impact Zone, here’s a little more about each ministry.
People Loving Nashville was founded in 2008 by the Lampa family (as in Rachael Lampa and her siblings) and some friends. Every Monday night they prepare and serve food to the unhoused in downtown Nashville. The weekly ritual has turned into a growing community, and the organization has since expanded to include clothing drives, job assistance and a coffee company, Paradeisos Coffee, which recently opened a storefront in Nashville where a portion of every purchase helps the ministry and the people it serves.
My360Project is on a mission to deliver shoes to millions of underprivileged children in developing countries around the world. The humanitarian organization employs artisans in Uganda and Mexico to craft each pair of shoes by hand; in turn, providing them with purposeful work to sustain their families financially. Additionally, all materials are locally sourced, stimulating the economy; and all shoes are hand-delivered along with a pair of socks and a moving foot-washing tradition that beautifully displays the servant heart of Jesus.
The Mighty Oaks Foundation supports the courageous men and women of our military through one-on-one discipleship and recovery programs that help veterans struggling with PTSD and other trauma unique to their vocation at no charge. In addition, the non-profit hosts retreats at scenic lodges and retreat centers across the nation throughout the year, providing those who serve our country with a peaceful place of respite to seek encouragement, mentorship and hope.
