While first gathering a following by playing in college cafeterias and church basements, Dave Barnes' musical talent and sense of humor are gaining steam quickly with his single "God Gave Me You."
Dave's songwriting and powerful lyrics have caught the attention of musicians across genres, including John Mayer, Vince Gill, and Amy Grant. His creativity has not only won him musical popularity, but also spurred a sense of humor that has sold out auditoriums for comedy routines.
On a deeper note, much of Dave's music has been influenced by his work with Mocha Club, a non-profit that builds orphanages and gives medical care to those in need in Africa. While he has always had a knack for songwriting, Dave has made sure to use talent not only to entertain audiences, but also be a light in the darkness.
"It just takes a little bit of light," Dave reflects on his interactions with people who don't know God. "It's similar to teaching people the first words of a language. Sometimes I go in there thinking that they're fluent, and they don't know how to say 'Hello.' The tiniest movement can create the biggest ripple."
